I tuned in to BBC this morning and they have this show about Malaysia’s economic success and how it could be a model to other developing countries. I winced and I swear I saw the host mouthed “like the Philippines”.

It is so disconcerting that I have to drag myself from bed to blog a few questions to address my despair.

To pen an essay about how badly goverened our country is is as easy as the task of explaining why Eric Santos and Ruffa Mae broke up (because a gay man can only pretend to date a straight woman), I don't think we need new literature just to point-out, yet again the lameness of our leaders. One simply has to sniff the tired Manila air and follow the scent.

DSWD? Aren't they supposed to do something about this?

DOH? People actually live here. Really, that thing shouldn't even be there.

DOE? So much for quality education and global competitiveness.

I'll cut my essay into three words:

WILL TO GOVERN.

it's not just the government, it's the people. the way i see it, it's the people's attitude that needs changing because our government is still governed by people.

here were are, babbling about how corrupt our leaders are and that how badly we needed change. but have we taken a good look at ourselves? what have we done for our country? aside from buying pirated cd's(i'm guilty of that, hehe), which doesn't help at all, what else? why not take the initiative of change instead of waiting? we are all part of this country and maybe it's time we do our part, we all have to pitch in.

hehe. sensya na, medyo depressed lang ako. ;)

haayyy.

sometimes, mere looking and knowing these, just feels like giving up with all my optimism for atleast a fairer life for them.
and sometimes, we tend to confuse ourselves who is to blame.

I'm sick and tired of people dumping on our government whenever we are being compared unfavorably with our Asian neighbors... shouldn't we all be doing our little part in goign forward instead of wallowing in self-pity?

Filipinos....get a friggin' backbone!!!

Yep, sad nga eh,lagi natin sinasabi na wala tayong magagawa kasi di nakikinig ang government pero minsan dapat isipin din natin kung sino bang naglalagay ng mga taong yan sa gobyerno...

the problem is that, blessed are we to have a lot of critical thinkers, we rarely see anyone mounting up to all the hurdles and actually do something.

i think the keyword here is Will.

amen to Yey. puro lang tayo talak at wiz naman talaga action. feeling natin as long as we criticize we are doing something already. but we should go far beyond that.
