The Academy Awards is just around the corner. So I took the girls for shopping to help them pick their red carpet ensembles. After an exhausting week and a night at a gay bar, finally the work's a kaput. We even decided to get all patriotic by supporting our beloved Cebuana designer Ms. ML.

Office girl type yet royalty-ish. Reyna Elena in corporate glam.

Engaging and lively. Lyka in a springtime on layered tool.

Leadership material. Kiks' declarant silk jersey.

Pageant enthusiast. Mrs. J's clean and fluidy champagne colored number.

Pastry guru. Mandaya's double bishop sleeves polka frock.

Gowns from Monique Lhuillier Spring 2008 prêt-à-porter collection.

Nada!

Banana flavor is the apposite choice!

Come on people, if 15-year old kids can create Friendster profiles I'm sure they know that condoms stand in between penises and vaginas for a reason and not a badge to shag around as them narrow minded morality warriors are worried and griping about.

This antediluvian thinking is reeking of hypocrisy. Millions of Filipino children will sleep unfed tonight. Worry about them instead.

"Yes, its still taboo here in the Philippines. But you know what, I used to work for Philippine TV and I can say that "gay" people are in control of our media. Watch our local movies and TV shows. Did you know that most of them were produced and written by these people and it has been going on for decades. Yes, they too are to blame for our lame movies and commercial model actors. All flash but no substance.Don't let the "liberal" media tell you how to think and feel. Wrong is wrong; don't ever let them convince you that "it's okay because its popular and feels right." I feel sorry for the generations of our people raised up into tolerating such abominations. We are supposed to be a "Christian" nation. Homosexuals holding a rosary won't mix.Just being real about it.

We are in deep need of "real" men and women in our shaky society."

This is the newest topic being discussed at Facebook's Philippine Network.

Get an account and post your sentiments over there as gay bashing is sooo frequent. I'm outnumbered but that's more than just a personal snag, underrepresentation gives them the impression that we're a minority not to be taken seriously.

Like a pedicure for a double leg amputee it would be most inappropriate at the moment for me to give my personal take to the Kiks & Mandaya Project I signed up for. So I outsourced.

Ok.

Boy meets boy. Boy fucks boy. Boy loves boy. Other boy do not love boy. The oldest story in the world. Hence the letter below.

(NOTE as in NOTE. Bryan is neither boy or other boy. My story is more of a pornographic tragedy. This is a non-fiction)
(contact me if you wish to decrypt the text below)

"Dear xxxooxx,

This is the first letter I am writing you and i find it even difficult to start...It must have been plain attraction the first time I saw you but what happened afterwards surprised me...Everything happened so fast and it left us both hurting...I am writing this letter to you to let you know that I'm in a journey towards making peace with you and hopefully lessen the hurt we are both experiencing...

I am sorry I scared you, I did not realize that because I was scared myself...Scared to let you go...I honestly felt something special for you and I never wanted to let go no matter how hopeless it may seem...I was a little crazy, I guess but I just thought of fighting for what I feel, endure whatever comes because I thought in that way you would appreciate that kind of love I am willing to share with you...The kind of love many people dream of but seldom find...

I don't want to feel angry or bothered anymore because it only attracts angry and negative people in my life...Dont worry, this time no more threats, no more demands...I will be waiting at the center of the soccer field at Burnham park from 5 pm Saturday until 5 pm on Sunday.

I am doing this for myself...I want to earn your respect and I want you to feel my sincerity that I desire nothing but your forgiveness...

After doing this sacrifice, only then I can forgive myself for hurting a man to whom I promised 5 years of my life...

It's your decision if you still wanted to talk to me, with everything that happened between us, I understand if you're not yet ready to see me and I will not force you again...

What kind of love I have for you, I cannot say...All I know is that it exists. It's like the wind, you can`t see it but it is there... To only love is my passion in life.

Meeting you made me learn 2 things
1. how to love someone
2. how to let go of someone you love
...But I guess I am not that smart enough to remember both...I can only remenber the first one...

With you, beside you
xxxooxx"
***
"One person can't be happy enough for the two of us."
GETTING PERSONAL

I tuned in to BBC this morning and they have this show about Malaysia’s economic success and how it could be a model to other developing countries. I winced and I swear I saw the host mouthed “like the Philippines”.

It is so disconcerting that I have to drag myself from bed to blog a few questions to address my despair.

To pen an essay about how badly goverened our country is is as easy as the task of explaining why Eric Santos and Ruffa Mae broke up (because a gay man can only pretend to date a straight woman), I don't think we need new literature just to point-out, yet again the lameness of our leaders. One simply has to sniff the tired Manila air and follow the scent.

DSWD? Aren't they supposed to do something about this?

DOH? People actually live here. Really, that thing shouldn't even be there.

DOE? So much for quality education and global competitiveness.

I'll cut my essay into three words:

WILL TO GOVERN.

Due to the Suze Orman limitation clause I have some acquisition schemes in 2008 that would stay as such—a scheme.

At number one is LV’s Marc Jacobs Spongebob Squarepants vanity bag for men (I’m assuming it is for men).

Why a vanity bag?

Well, pouch bags are clichéd and pretentious. I was a pouch bag user until it hit me: it is a girlie as my ‘Abt Ur Luv’-addicted sister’s Kamiseta kikay bag. I do not campaign against it though. Hell you can use a pouch bag as big as a trolley for all I care.

Also, it has this tool kit-ish DIY guy sexy appeal with a youthful pop-culture twist—elegant and contemporary.

Then again it is still a vanity bag. I don’t think I would carry one around.

But I still want one. To my yet-to-meet future husband, please buy me one.

meanwhile please continue sending questions for Jims

before i proceed flooding my poor blog with my life's litany let's take a sharp turn to funville and save us from the boring details of my banal existence.

but i need your help.

i thought that i'd be interesting and surely fun to share you a glimpse of the pinoy community in papua new guinea. and there's only one way to start this: a chat with our dear sisters in faith.

here's how the gig goes: i will be interviewing fellow ofw's in papua new guinea but to make it more interactive i would be needing questions to ask them from you.

everyone's invited to send in questions. drop them in the comment box. i would choose 10 from the lot in a week's time we'll hear the replies.

first stop...Jims

Bryan: My sadness and loneliness borders unbearability na.

Bestfriendship: Hoy umayos ka!

Itutuloy
Regine Velasquez

Itutuloy, itutuloy dito o doon
Itutuloy ang lahat saan man naroon

Regina Lafay attributes her anxiety disorder to the abuses she suffered as a child. She quit her stressful day job to keep her mentally in order. Dropped from the payroll, she’s now doing art. Her art heals her. Her art vindicates her.

Wounded

"I had someone actually ask me “what the hell is that?” I wasn’t sure how to answer. Wounded is a combination of a skeleton and a doll. It’s confusion and chaos. It’s pain and frustration. I think it was one of the first I did while trying to figure out my bipolar symptoms, prior to diagnosis. It’s that feeling of not being put-together properly, off-centered."

Angry Inner Child

"A portrait of someone who suffered the loss of innocence and childhood. Even as an adult, I find myself clinging to childlike things and trying to make sense of the angry things I do."
